Time to get down to work now!

Published by BobO under politics Edit This

Alrighty then - Pauly is back from a wonderful vacation!  No - I wasn’t ignoring you guys out there - I was just staying really busy being on vacation and enjoying the holiday season.  I hope you all had a great time - I know I did!  I really hate to say it - but - I didn’t even think about this blog once while I was gone.  Okay - maybe a couple times - but - not long enough to want to come out here and post something up.  My mind and head were too in to the moment to really think about posting on politics and all the other shit that is going on in the world right now.

Well - Now that Israel is on fire again and that whackjob in Iran is making threats again - it’s going to be a very interesting 2009.  I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the U.N. considers Israel’s response to the terrorist bombings as “disproportionate.”  I was listening to someone that was filling in for Rush the other day as I was driving back and he made a very good point…if a midget were poking you in the ass with a needle all the time what is your response going to be?  Are you going to just tell him to stop or are you going to kick his ass if he keeps doing it?  Of course such a response is going to be “disproportionate.” What the hell is Israel supposed to do while those Islamofascists continue to send missiles in to Israeli territory killing innocents completely unprovoked?

Anyway - just wanted to let everyone know I’m back and ready to go!  Heres to a great New Year!

More companies looking for their handout!

Published by BobO under politics Edit This

Well - Merry Christmas!  I know it’s been a while since I posted up something - been kinda busy lately with Christmas fast approaching.  So - while I was doing my regular cruising - I came across this story - it looks like there are a whole lot more out there lining up in the welfare line trying to get a handout bailout from the government.

More companies lining up for piece of bailout fund

WASHINGTON (AP) - A trio of reports due out Tuesday are expected to paint a bleak picture of the nation’s housing market and the broader economy, as the deepening recession sends more companies lining up for a piece of the government’s $700 billion bailout fund.

Wow. Didn’t see that coming! But, what pisses me off the most about this story is a statement from that dickhead Barney Frank - you know the one - the asshole that helped cause this whole mess:

Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, said Monday he is preparing legislation to require that some of the bailout money be spent for specific purposes, such as stemming foreclosures and reducing mortgage rates. Frank is pushing to get the second half of the $700 billion rescue fund released next month, before President-elect Barack Obama is inaugurated.

Frank said his legislation would include a version of a plan, supported by Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Sheila Bair, to spend $24 billion to give lenders financial incentives to modify more loans and help more borrowers keep their homes. Bair has estimated it could prevent 1.5 million foreclosures.

His proposal also would include a measure, under consideration by Treasury, to use government-controlled mortgage companies Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE) to reduce mortgage rates to 4.5 percent or lower to stimulate more home buying.

Frank also wants to revamp the Hope for Homeowners program, which was launched Oct. 1. It was intended to let 400,000 troubled homeowners swap risky loans for conventional 30-year fixed-rate loans with lower rates. The early results have been disappointing, with only 312 applications so far, and officials are looking at ways to expand the program’s use.

Screw you, you fat bastard! Let those lenders foreclose on those homes. This is just more damned government interference trying to keep people in homes they never should have gotten in the first place. What about the rest of us in this country who have played by the rules? We bought the homes we could afford. We got the right loans for our budgets. We continue to pay our mortgages on time. Now - you want to modify the loans for those deadbeats that shouldn’t be in a home to begin with using my money?

I don’t want a handout. I don’t want my home loan modified. I want you to keep your freaking mitts off my money and let those chips fall where they may. If those people can’t afford the homes - let the banks do what they’re supposed to do - foreclose! You are creating a damned welfare state by bailing out regular people who made some stupid mistakes because of their own idiocy. It is NOT government’s job to protect the people from their own stupidity.

Deflation is a good thing? Is she serious?

Published by BobO under Uncategorized Edit This

One would think that a magazine like the U.S. News & World Report would have contributors and writers that are somewhat intelligent.  Then I came across this piece by Bonnie Erbe:  Deflation Might Just Be a Good Thing What kind of uneducated moron could ever come to that conclusion? She makes a fine attempt though:

…the economy has just endured spiraling inflation, most of which the government’s rigged economic figures (see prior blog entry) have failed to recognize. Real estate, in some areas, doubled and tripled in price, while gas prices doubled within a year. Food is up, rents are up, although gas is back down again, of course. But salaries never did rise quickly enough to catch up with other inflated costs. So, from where I stand, a bit of deflation is a good thing for the economy. It is not to be feared; it is to be welcomed.

Ummm - apparently she did not take in to consideration those confounding non-market driven factors that caused the spiraling inflation of gas, homes, food, etc. Nor did she take in to consideration that economic deflation also includes the devaluation of our currency.  Sure, the costs of goods might come back down - but - due to the deflation of the economy - the value of our dollar also goes down - which means - we’re still not getting any more for our dollar than before the deflation began.

Hey - moron - when deflation occurs - everyone starts holding on to their money.  Nobody is spending.  Our capitalist system relies on spending.  When spending stops - people start losing jobs!!! This part of the simple economic model of supply and demand.  When demand goes down, supplies go down and prices go up and vice versa.  Deflation knocks things out of equilibrium just as much as inflation.

Hey - U.S. News & World Report - don’t you guys hire people who actually have a clue because this lady sure doesn’t

So - the lemons have been passed on for them to make their own lemonade. These are all today.com bloggers - please go visit. I know that some of my readers on the left have noticed that many of these are “right” bloggers. Well, it’s not that I didn’t want to give any out to those “other guys.” But, after seeing the list of bloggers that that SKW gave them out to - this award was already given out to those on the left that I would have as well.

For those of you coming by to pick up the award - make sure you also copy the rules and paste them on your blog as well when you pass them on.  That is a pretty cool picture of a lemonade stand isn’t it?  Doesn’t look anything like the ones I had as a kid.  You know, I bet this particular lemonade stand was started by some rich conservative kid who didn’t need any more money…look at that thing!  Capitalism at its best! LOL

Today was what? Sorry, missed it - didn’t even notice it.

Published by BobO under Uncategorized Edit This

So, apparently today was supposed to be a day without a gay?  WTF?  I guess if you’re gay you were supposed to “call in gay” today in opposition of Prop 8 out in California.  That’s pretty freakin’ funny if you ask me.  I can tell you, none of the gays in my organization called off today.  In fact, of all the ones who are openly gay and we know who they are - they were all at work today.

I guess there is a lot of support for the opposition of Prop 8 in the gay community isn’t there?  I found this:

Day Without A Gay participation spotty

Seems like it didn’t go over well at all.  Seriously, who’s the idiot that even thought of this?  There are many reasons that a person can take a day off work that would be paid for - but - being gay is not one of them.  I’m sure there would have been quite a few individuals that would have been counseled by their employers or would have been fired if they actually did that.  I guess when it comes down to it, especially in these hard economic times - even the gay community is choosing the mighty dollar over the gay rights issue.

If anything - what this now has done is for those people who legitimately called off today there will be suspicion as to whether or not they are gay.  Hmmm?

Another one of Obama’s friends going to jail!

Published by BobO under politics Edit This

Hmmm…seems like Mr. Obamessiah has a lot of criminal friends these days!  First it was his scumbag slumlord friend Rezko, then his scumbag politician friend Kilpatrick, and now his buddy the Governor of his own state !  With friends like these, Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Talbott, Johnson, and Raines - oh I am so absolutely sure that there is no corruption at all tied to the likes of Obama is there?

There is no possible way in hell you can tell me that The Obamessiah is no way at all linked to any of these people or the corruption that surrounds them.  Who the hell is protecting this guy?  It just absolutely amazes me that you can surround yourself with these kinds of people and none, absolutely none, of that shit ever sticks to you?  Someone out there is doing one helluva job keeping his name out of all of this because - you know he is in just as deep as all of them.  The only thing he has going for him right now is that once he becomes President - the only one’s allowed to investigate and charge him will be the Supreme Court and Congress through the DOJ - AND - you know that the Democratic Congress will never investigate him.

I’m sorry - but - I’m not convinced that he’s not connected and not corrupt.  He was raised in this environment of corruption that is Illinois and Chicago.  The only thing missing is the Mob boss!  —- oh…wait…that’s it  HE’S THE BOSS!!!

Response to my commentors - sorry - but - for some reason having difficulties leaving comments again - so that you guys won’t think I’m ignoring you - just gonna have to post them up here:

Truth - thanks for stopping in and commenting - however - I don’t see what you’re seeing.  Obama is moving inthe wrong direction - and he hasn’t even taken office yet.  He’s already talking about increasing spending beyond anything that any other administration has done before - and we’re in an economic downturn.  The only way for him to spend more money that we don’t have is to raise taxes.

Hey 3D - How ’bout the Stillers!  If it weren’t for our D we’d probably have lost that game.  Good thing Romo choked.  Now - c’mon - Obama and Bloggy have been connected going back to 1996.  Bloggy was on Obama’s campaign staff when he was running for Senator and then Obama rubbed his back by endorsing him for Governor in 2002 and 2006.  I’m sorry - but - when you have Obama’s own campaign manager stating just 2 weeks ago that Obama and Bloggy have been talking about the vacated seat and then Obama comes out today saying they didn’t - I smell a cover up.

Allykat - Given he grew up in the corrupt Chicago political machine - I say yes sir 100%

Mayorofnowhere - let’s see - Palin has only know Stevens for 2 years only because she just recently became the Governor and had to deal with him.  I wouldn’t call them friends.  On the other hand - every individual I named up there has been friends with Obama for at least 10 years except the good Rev’s for 20 years.  No comparison.

PoliticalAnimal - you’re right - he deserves it.  Idiot!

33 years? Isn’t that overkill? No pun intended.

Published by BobO under Uncategorized Edit This

So, I guess that murderer O.J. Simpson finally got what was coming to him.  The jury in Vegas found Simpson and his accomplice guilty of armed robbery.  They say he could get anywhere from 9 to 33 years in prison.  If he does get the full 33 years - doesn’t that seem to be excessive for armed robbery?  Especially when given the fact that he was stealing back the stuff that was stolen from him?

If he does get the full sentence, would it be because of the fact that he got off scott free for the Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson murders and now a different jury is trying to exact justice on him now that should have been wielded oh so many years ago?

I know they say he’s supposed to be innocent because a jury of his peers found him not guilty - but - they didn’t get to hear all the testimony that we did.  There is no doubt in my mind that he killed his wife and Mr. Goldman.  However, I still don’t understand the stiff penalty considering he was just taking back what was his.

This gives me mixed feelings only because I’d hate to find out that if someone stole something from me - then I go and take it back - I could find myself in prison.  How is that justice?

Oh, they aren’t racist at all!

Published by BobO under politics Edit This

I thought with the election of an African-American that this was supposed to be proof that perhaps America as a whole has elevated itself above race and racism!  Nope - it seems that it’s still okay for African-Americans to be outright and out front with their racism:

Congressman:  Obama’s Senate Replacement Be Black

Yup - that’s right - an elected, wait - a BLACK elected official came right out and made this racist statement - in fact - he said “it would be a “national disgrace” if Obama’s seat were not filled by an African American. Oh, it should also be noted that Congressman Rush is an ex-Black Panther.

What do you think would happen if, let’s say, Bill Clinton came out and said - Hillary’s replacement MUST be a WHITE WOMAN?  Or, what if Congressman Castle from Delaware came out and point blank said - Joe Biden’s seat MUST be filled with a WHITE MAN!  There would be a national uproar by all African-Americans in this country.  Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be DEMANDING the resignation of those Congressman and would be all over the news and talk shows denouncing such “hate speech.”  Why is it that blacks can be openly racist and get away with it?  Where is the outcry?  Why isn’t anyone demanding Congressman Rush’s resignation?

Why hasn’t Obama come out and denounced this clearly racist statement?  I thought Obama was supposed to be a unifying individual?  If he were, he’d be the first one to come out and call that statement what it is - racist.  He needs to come out and say that the most qualified individual, regardless of race or gender should be appointed.  Why isn’t Obama stepping up?

Oh - that’s right - I forgot - only white’s are racist.  Hogwash!

Oh, Really? Another “No Duh” moment in American economics.

Published by BobO under politics Edit This

I saw this post over at Vulcan’s Hammer - Ouch! It is now official–Recession .  In it he links to a report from the LA Times that  states the National Bureau of Economic Research announced that the U.S. has been in a recession since December of 2007.

Technically, we are supposed to be in a recession when there is a decline of GDP in two consecutive quarters.  According to the report, the NBER uses additional data including employment data.  The good part is that this is a non-governmental, private organization doing this study and putting out the report - because - had this been a government funded (taxpayer funded) report - I would have to question why we are spending the money to have somebody report something that we already know!

Times have been tough for a very large number of people for a very long time.  Layoffs and the unemployment rate have been gradually increasing over the last year.  Homes have been foreclosed on since last July and the number of foreclosures continue to rise.  Overall consumer spending has been decreasing gradually over the past year - partly due to the energy costs - partly due to the fact that unemployment has gone up.

This might be news to those who haven’t been paying attention - but - for those of us who have been watching and consider themselves to be fiscal conservatives and watching the way the politicians have been screwing over businesses the past year and spending out of control, and now, they’re just printing money like crazy - well - this is just one of those “No Duh” or more appropriately - No Shit Sherlock!  And..you wasted how much of that non-profit money putting this study together?!?!?

It’s Over - Finally!

Published by BobO under politics Edit This

Nope - not talking about that outrage going on in Mumbai - although - that is over as well - Thank God!  Apparently, the plan there had been in the making for over a year and they planned on killing over 5,000 people.  And, you guys on the left think that Islamofascists are nothing to worry about?  I figured enough bloggers have picked up on those stories since it started 3 days ago - I would report on other stuff.

What I’m talking about is that attempt by Al Franken to steal the election up in Minnesota by asking for voter information - which is so against our constitution, it’s not even funny.  Apparently, there are some smart judges up in Minnesotata.  They ruled against Franken saying that a.) the canvassing boards have already verified the rejected absentee ballots and therefore they are not subject to the recount (as it is supposed to be) and they rejected his request for the names, addresses, and phone numbers of the voters who voted by absentee ballot.  There is absolutely no reason inhell for any politician to have the names of voters and who they actually voted for.  This goes againts our voting privacy rights.  Oh..wait..that does sound kinda familiar doesn’t it?

Isn’t Obama planning on doing the same thing for the Unions?  Isn’t he planning on doing away with the secret ballots for unionizing?  It would make sense that Franken would believe he has access to voter ballots, names, addresses, and phone numbers if Obama is about to hand the same thing over to the Unions.

In any case, it’s a great day in Minnesota and in the U.S. when idiots like Franken get rejected for being such an idiot to think he could get away with something like that.
