One would think that a magazine like the U.S. News & World Report would have contributors and writers that are somewhat intelligent. Then I came across this piece by Bonnie Erbe: Deflation Might Just Be a Good Thing What kind of uneducated moron could ever come to that conclusion? She makes a fine attempt though:
…the economy has just endured spiraling inflation, most of which the government’s rigged economic figures (see prior blog entry) have failed to recognize. Real estate, in some areas, doubled and tripled in price, while gas prices doubled within a year. Food is up, rents are up, although gas is back down again, of course. But salaries never did rise quickly enough to catch up with other inflated costs. So, from where I stand, a bit of deflation is a good thing for the economy. It is not to be feared; it is to be welcomed.
Ummm - apparently she did not take in to consideration those confounding non-market driven factors that caused the spiraling inflation of gas, homes, food, etc. Nor did she take in to consideration that economic deflation also includes the devaluation of our currency. Sure, the costs of goods might come back down - but - due to the deflation of the economy - the value of our dollar also goes down - which means - we’re still not getting any more for our dollar than before the deflation began.
Hey - moron - when deflation occurs - everyone starts holding on to their money. Nobody is spending. Our capitalist system relies on spending. When spending stops - people start losing jobs!!! This part of the simple economic model of supply and demand. When demand goes down, supplies go down and prices go up and vice versa. Deflation knocks things out of equilibrium just as much as inflation.
Hey - U.S. News & World Report - don’t you guys hire people who actually have a clue because this lady sure doesn’t

Sorry haven’t posted lately - I’ve been really busy! Well, it looks like another award(?) has been passed on to Political Rants from the Right. SKWGuitar from News Today gave this to me. Thanks - it is much appreciated.
The rules of this award for recipients:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.
So - in keeping with what appears to be the theme - I’m passing this on to the following 10 today.com blogs:
What Would Batman Do? or Right is Wrong - whichever blog he wants to put it on.
My Frakkin Blog
Creating Life
Politics 2000
Bad Gals Radio
Call To Action
Sports 2000
Rants and Raves
Christian Politics
Poor Republican
So - the lemons have been passed on for them to make their own lemonade. These are all today.com bloggers - please go visit. I know that some of my readers on the left have noticed that many of these are “right” bloggers. Well, it’s not that I didn’t want to give any out to those “other guys.” But, after seeing the list of bloggers that that SKW gave them out to - this award was already given out to those on the left that I would have as well.
For those of you coming by to pick up the award - make sure you also copy the rules and paste them on your blog as well when you pass them on. That is a pretty cool picture of a lemonade stand isn’t it? Doesn’t look anything like the ones I had as a kid. You know, I bet this particular lemonade stand was started by some rich conservative kid who didn’t need any more money…look at that thing! Capitalism at its best! LOL

So, apparently today was supposed to be a day without a gay? WTF? I guess if you’re gay you were supposed to “call in gay” today in opposition of Prop 8 out in California. That’s pretty freakin’ funny if you ask me. I can tell you, none of the gays in my organization called off today. In fact, of all the ones who are openly gay and we know who they are - they were all at work today.
I guess there is a lot of support for the opposition of Prop 8 in the gay community isn’t there? I found this:
Day Without A Gay participation spotty
Seems like it didn’t go over well at all. Seriously, who’s the idiot that even thought of this? There are many reasons that a person can take a day off work that would be paid for - but - being gay is not one of them. I’m sure there would have been quite a few individuals that would have been counseled by their employers or would have been fired if they actually did that. I guess when it comes down to it, especially in these hard economic times - even the gay community is choosing the mighty dollar over the gay rights issue.
If anything - what this now has done is for those people who legitimately called off today there will be suspicion as to whether or not they are gay. Hmmm?

So, I guess that murderer O.J. Simpson finally got what was coming to him. The jury in Vegas found Simpson and his accomplice guilty of armed robbery. They say he could get anywhere from 9 to 33 years in prison. If he does get the full 33 years - doesn’t that seem to be excessive for armed robbery? Especially when given the fact that he was stealing back the stuff that was stolen from him?
If he does get the full sentence, would it be because of the fact that he got off scott free for the Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson murders and now a different jury is trying to exact justice on him now that should have been wielded oh so many years ago?
I know they say he’s supposed to be innocent because a jury of his peers found him not guilty - but - they didn’t get to hear all the testimony that we did. There is no doubt in my mind that he killed his wife and Mr. Goldman. However, I still don’t understand the stiff penalty considering he was just taking back what was his.
This gives me mixed feelings only because I’d hate to find out that if someone stole something from me - then I go and take it back - I could find myself in prison. How is that justice?

Well, the family and I enjoyed every bit of this day. I figured, better late than never to get out here and post something up. Surprisingly, I didn’t think about politics all day! I need a holiday more often! We had the kids over - ate a LOT of food - watched the parades and the ball games. You know, when I was a kid, I remember the main Thanksgiving day football game was always the Dallas Cowboys versus the Washington Redskins (Cowboys and Indians). What the hell happened with that tradition? Did someone decide it wasn’t PC to pit cowboys against Indians on the day we’re supposed to be paying homage to the Pilgrims and Indians coming together?
Oh well. Is there something we can do about having the Lions play every Thanksgiving? They really suck! It never fails, the triptophan from eating too much turkey always kicks in during the Lions game..in addition to the fact that game is always so boring - I always end up passing out on the couch for about an hour or two. Just once, I’d like to try and stay awake through the whole day!
Well..there’s always next year!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you enjoyed your day of Thanks.

Holy Hell Batman! I’m getting close to 40 spam comments a day now! I tried to keep this blog commenting entirely open so that my commentors could say their piece/peace without having to jump through hoops - but - alas, my friends - It looks like I’m going to have to turn that ReCaptcha thingy back on.
My e-mails have become inundated with all these stupid spam comments - some for absolutely nothing like xszyrburys and andksyidls then there’s my favorite from zksyidshi - seriously - if it isn’t wierd crap like that - then there’s always the ones for every freakin drug under the sun!
Seriously - does anyone here buy their Viagra, Cialis, or Cymbalta from spam comments? So - even though I tried to use the spam filter and put everything, including the kitchen sink, in my filter - I still get close to 40 a day. The days of free-commenting are over folks. Really sorry - but - for my sanity - I have to turn it back on!
So sorry!
BTW - anyone else having these spam issues or is it just me?

Taking a break from the political blogging for tonight. Okay - quite honestly, I finding trouble finding things to REALLY rant on since the election has ended. It seems that all the topics at hand to blog about are already being blogged about. If I blog about it - it’s just rehashing what everyone else is already say. BUT — I came across this. This is probably one of the funniest things I’ve seen. It’s a guy talking about the difference between the male and female brain.
If for some reason you are unable to see the video - or it doesn’t load - you can go here to watch it.
While I was watching this - I could remember many times having a conversation with my wife - and - not being able to follow her. There have been so many times where she’s changed subjects on whatever we were talking about that she leaves me two or three topics behind. I’m responding to something she said - the answer turns out to be irrelevant - because she’s already moved on to something else - and my question or response made absolutely no sense at all.
I can also remember times when I just let my wife rant (which you will see is part of this video) where I’ve zoned out on something else - came back in - God knows how long I zoned - and she was still talking about something. I don’t really recall any of whatever she was ranting about - but - I do know that as long as I just sat there pretending to listen - it was A-Okay.
Anyway - watch this video all the way through - it’s hilarious. If you’re a male - you’ll recognize “the nothing box.” If you’re a female - you will certainly be able to relate!
Enjoy!

This is mostly for my 1 or 2 readers who comment regularly - first - thanks mom and dad for reading my blog!
Actually, though - I just wanted to let my readers out there know that I have not been ignoring your comments. I have been trying for the past week to respond to you - but - for whatever reason - none of my responses are staying there. In fact, I’ve been to a few of your blogs (for those of you with a today.com blog) and have tried leaving a comment at your placed as well - again, to no avail.
I had this problem once before and it turned out to be a firewall issue with my computer. I turn that off now when I go to leave a comment - so - I know that’s not the problem this time.
I am submitting a message to those kind people at Today.com to see if they can figure out the problem. At the very least - they will read this as they do their regular checks and see what is happening as well.
But - please continue to comment - I will eventually get the ability to respond again. I first learned I had a problem when I tried a single response to multiple commentors all at once…I figure that response was a good 500 words with lots of supporting links..etc etc - when it didn’t save - I was ready to toss my laptop across the room. If you’ve gone through that before - you know what I mean.
The second time it happened was trying to post a response over at KatieAnne’s place - again - a pretty long substantive comment - that did not save! Aaagggh. One last try - I just tried to leave one over at Jebradstreet’s place - again - NADA - ZIP - ZILCH. It doesn’t matter whether there is one of those reCaptcha things or not - for some reason my comments are being stifled!
Oh - wait - I get it - the people at today.com are probably liberal and they just don’t want such astute commentary from a conservative showing up! AHA!!!! Okay - probably not…just a fleeting thought.
And - just one last thing before I leave - Two days in a row -McCain/Palin polls ahead of Obama/Biden - there are libs all across this country throwing PVC’s and checking in to the ER’s with chest pain - it’s gonna be a nail-biter on Tuesday!

I know - this must be very disappointing for Bill and 3Degrees and KatieAnne since they just can’t wait for me to post something up either pro-McCain or anti-Obama just so they can come by here to add their 2 cents! I know they wait on pins and needles every day just waiting for me to put something up here!
Well, sorry guys - I need a break - just for tonight. Instead - gonna take a page from 3Degrees up there and pass some love around to some of our fellow Today.com bloggers - those other blogs that I’ve either discovered through EntreCard or through the Today.com boards that I like to read - kinda help them out a bit.
Some of these are political blogs - others are family related - and then there are those that are just miscellaneous - but all worth a visit. Please show some support to these bloggers - stop by and say howdy! - oh - and make sure you check out Bill, KatieAnne, and 3Degree’s sites linked up there. While they don’t agree with my politics - they do put good stuff of their own up there. Bill’s primary website - What Would Batman Do is a favorite read of mine - I’m kinda a cartoon freak myself. His other blog is political - he has some pretty wild stuff up there to - make sure you visit that one as well - The Godless, Baby-Killing Sodomite .
Here’s my list of favorite Today.com bloggers:
I’ve always enjoyed many of the posts and discussions up on these blogs - I’m sure you will too. And…to those of you who I put on this list - I know - I don’t have you in my blog rolls to the right there yet…I’ve been kinda lazy there…but…I promise - you’ll eventually get put up there!
Bill, 3D, KatieAnne - I promise I’ll put something up tomorrow night that you guys can come back and harrass me
