I thought you Liberals were supposed to be the tolerant ones?

Published by BobO at 11:45 pm under politics Edit This

I can’t believe the pure hatred that is coming from the left over there!  I thought you guys were supposed to be the tolerant ones.  Now, don’t get me wrong - I don’t automatically put everyone on the left in this category - but - there are just so many out there - it’s absolutely mindboggling!

How could anybody justify these kinds of shirts?  There isn’t anything this vile coming from the right.

Then, I came across this one: Sarah Palin - M.I.L.P. - Mother I’d Like to Punch

Or - why these ones guys?

Seriously, are there any of you guys on the left there than can come up with anything as viscious as this coming from the right? Where’s the tolerance? Or - what about Sandra Bernhard’s statement that if Palin comes in to NYC she hopes that she would get raped by some big black brothers?

Before you go on to say that there have been instances where people have stated “kill him” with regards to Obama at McCain and Palin rallies - that has already been refuted by the Secret Service and local law enforcement officers at the rallies.  They have said that not one undercover secret service member or other law enforcement officers ever heard such statements.  The news reports were falsified (no surprise here regarding the biased media).

If you google “I hate Sarah Palin” you get 653,000 links.  Good lord people - what has she done to illicit such hatred from you guys on the left?  Again, I thought you liberals were supposed to be the ones who are so tolerant - WTF?

Alright seriously though… what’s worse, those shirts? Or the idea of her in office?

    Vote Bob Barr 2008.

The t-shirts worn by kids with anti-gay slogans are worse. Blondie over at http://gaylesbianlifestyle.today.com/ had some photos of this earlier in the month. I think they were like Kindergardeners. How sad. Whilst I agree that some of these images are bad and not what most Democrats would wear - both parties have extremists - I have to confess that the MILP one, well …… She’s so condescending and doesn’t represent me or any woman I know. :)

SKW - actually, I do like Sarah Palin. I researched her even before she was actually nominated as the VP. I saw her on a Glenn Beck interview about three months prior to her selection. The media is just out to smear her - but - she is in fact a great choice, is very intelligent, and does indeed have the experience needed for the executive position. Neither Obama, Biden, or McCain have the same level of executive experience as she. If anything, none of them are qualified to be the President.

KatieAnne - I love children. Children should not be exploited by haters on the right or the left. I will agree with you there - idiots who put those kinds of shirts on children are the worst of the worst - and - yes - I would agree - seeing those kinds of shirts on children is by far worst than seeing adults wearing the anti-Palin shirts.

What makes you think she’s condescending? From everything I’ve seen and heard - she’s very down to earth - more so than those elitist politicians - Obama, Biden, and McCain. She can connect with the common middle-class because she was there herself - and as far as income goes - she still is in the middle-class.

And..as far as your associations go - I actually do know women who connect with her and think she represents them. Again, it’s a matter of perspective. We only associate with those of like mindedness - that’s what I love about blogging because I get to hear from “the other side.”

-Bill - I will agree that the foodstamps with Fried Chicken and watermelon was a bit over the top. If it had been just Obama’s picture on it - I don’t think that would be considered racist - adding those stereotypes is what made it racist - and I don’t buy her excuse that “it was just food to me.” I’m sure she knew exactly what she was doing.

However, with regards to the youtube - you’re gonna have to explain to me how that was racist. I don’t get it. I guy put an Obama hat on a curious George doll - not sure how that was racist.

With regards to the first one - I stand corrected - but - it’s still not anywhere near as vile and mean as what’s coming out from the left on a daily basis.

Sorry, had to approve the comment first - but you should be in the fly-zone now. Feel free to venture over anytime as well.

I don’t hate Sarah Palin, in fact I almost feel bad for her. She was on the fast-track and with a little more seasoning (5 years more or so of actually meeting officials, getting involved in foreign policy etc) she could have been unstoppable. Republicans are typically more forgiving with dems, so if McCain does indeed lose than she may still have a bright future. I guess my real thoughts on Sarah Palin is that she would make an awesome teacher. Like, if I had her in 10th-11th grade? Money baby. I would have loved it lol.

    Before I address the post…

    38-10! That’s what I’m talkin’ bout!

Now, to get to the discussion above, there is no high road in this election. The left is responding in force to the shit they’ve put up with for the last eight years, and to their credit, responding in numbers like no one’s vers seen. When you take into account the violence against Obama supporters, vandalism, and general hate speech, a couple of shirts don’t seem that bad.

Or, to give you a different perspective, I’ve written some satirical posts about Barack Obama, and when I search where hits on my site come from, an overwhelming number are from Google searches with the keywords: Obama+muslim+communist or Obama is evil, or Obama hates America, or Obama+evil+plot and the like.

I just wish I could see their faces when they wind up on my blog…

Sorry for the late responses - sports got in the way of bloggin’!!

Pittsburgh played an awesome game for once - I was really expecting them to play down at the bungles’ level!

Then - it was the final game of the Rays - Bosox game - had to watch that - then MNF!!

I won’t even tell you the search strings people are using when they come across my blog! Some of them are quite nasty in reference to The One. Like I said, I don’t hate the guy - I just don’t like his policies.

I don’t understand why people can’t have different political views without someone else calling the other haters (it’s on both sides).

“When you take into account the violence against Obama supporters, vandalism, and general hate speech, a couple of shirts don’t seem that bad.”

Dude - it’s happening on both sides. There are just as many Obama supporters doing the same to McCain supports. In fact, there was a story out just this past weekend that hit national news where an Obama supporter who called a McCain supporter unsolicited - when the McCain supporter said she didn’t like Obama - the next day she had secret service agents at her door because the Obama supporter accused her of saying Obama should be killed.

Now - that’s just plain crazy!

I still don’t think this country is ready for socialism - and - it never should be. And..yes, Bill - socialism is a bad word considering this country was founded on the principles of limited government and personal responsibility.
