The Top 10 Reasons why Obama can’t seal the deal.

Published by BobO at 9:29 pm under politics Edit This

While I was doing my regular EC dropping - I came across this over at The Real World:

  1. Even a good con man cannot fool everyone all the time. We saw that in the primaries when, as voters started to pay attention in the late going, Obama could not win any major states;
  2. As the article below notes, voters are now starting to pay attention in this general election. As they learn more about the candidates, more doubt is raised about the Obama candidacy;
  3. Obama is a radical: by record, by definition and by association. The truth is not something he can run from. He can only continue to try to hide it;
  4. Obama has no experience as a leader. He is trained as a legal advocate and he has political experience in a state legislature and the Senate, both of which are all about accomodation and compromise. The only thing Obama has ever run, to quote Jesse Jackson, “…is his mouth.” Leadership positions do not exist on his resume;
  5. Obama is the darling of the big media. Americans have generally rejected the big media. Viewership is down, subscriptions are down, advertisement revenue is down. People no longer pay attention to the big media because they know such organs are wholly biased and agenda driven. Most of us turn elsewhere for our information;
  6. Obama’s campaign attracts and is surrounded by radicals. Acorn is under multiple investigations for voter fraud on his behalf. A college student has been charged with hacking into Sarah Palin’s email in an effort to discredit her. Further, she is so viciously attacked by the far left radicals that voters are driven to her cause by sheer decency and fairness;
  7. Obama unexplicably picked a schlump for his Vice Presidential running mate. His choice was a major disappointment to many in his party and it proved an absolute mystery to the rest of America. Biden brings little of value to the ticket and has actually cost Obama support among Catholics and independents, especially women;
  8. Audiences do note the distinct difference between Obama as a speaker using a teleprompter and Obama off the cuff. The eloquence goes away with the lack of a teleprompter as the gaffes and bad speaking habits openly and increasingly manifest themselves;
  9. His real lack of expertise relative to economic leadership or military leadership becomes more obvious day by day;
  10. Clearly, his candidacy raises doubts. Voters are unsure as to his bona fides.

He references an article in #2.  It is titled Higher Ratings for second McCain-Obama debate.  You can read more of this over at his site:  Why Obama Can’t Close the Deal.

For me, it all makes sense.  In all the recent polls - while Obama is leading - they are all within the margins of error for each of them.  Technically, they are still in a statistical tie. You can find all those polls here .

    obviously obama’s message is resonating with voters. Voter’s have had plenty of time to get to know Mr. Obama, past association and all. How come McCain can’t close the deal? He’s the war hero? He has the experience, you would think he would know how to defeat a newbie to the national scene.. DO you honestly think there is going to be a dramatic shift in the electorate with less than a month until the election?

    azwriter - it doesn’t need to be a ‘dramatic’ shift. They are in a statistical tie in all the polls. You can see those here: http://www.realclearpolitics.com

    The fact of the matter is - both of these candidates suck. In any other election - there would be a real clear leader at this point. McCain isn’t pulling them in because he’s too liberal for the conservative base. He hoped by bringin in Palin he could get them back. He managed to get a bump out of it - but - he has burned the republican conservatives too many times in the past - and there is no trust in him.

    The fact for Obama is that he can’t pull in his moderate democrat base because he’s too liberal. He platformed on far left ideologies in the primaries and has since triangulated to the middle. the moderate dems don’t trust him either.

    The only one’s voting for Obama right now are 1.) those who hate Bush and refuse to vote in another republican, 2.) die hard democrats who would never vote outside of party lines, 3.) the loony far left, an 4.) 95% of blacks.

    No, I didn’t make up #4 - that’s what the media has been reporting. So - you guys voting for Obama - which one of the above are ya. Cuz - it sure can’t be because you actually agree with his socialist agenda. Not the stuff he is saying…the stuff that got him elected in Illinois, the stuff that got him elected to the Senate for Illinois. He is not a moderate…never has been, never will. He’s posturing for you guys just as McCain is trying to posture for the conservative right.

    This is the first election where it truly is entirely hinged on the swing voters. The polls essentially reflect those who are committed. The differences between the numbers are the undecided.

    Most of America are not political junkies like we bloggers. They get their news from the MSM or the liberal news papers. They don’t travel around theh blogosphere reading these blogs nor do they listen to the talk radio shows to hear about Obama’s radical associations. There were a lot of regular Americans out there who were completely surprised to learn about Obama’s connection to Ayers as FINALLY reported by CNN and The New York Post. Until now - not one single MSM outlet has published or aired any of Obama’s radical connections.

    You all know as well as I do that Obama has a very close relationship with Ayers, Wright, Pfleger, Talbott, Rezko, Farrakhan, Raines, Johnson, and Kilpatrick. As the MSM starts picking up on these because they finally realize they can get some readership and viewers - the tide will turn because a.) the public will be pissed that the MSM has been covering this all up and b.) middle America doesn’t want a President who has close ties with such radical people.

    And…don’t try to say he didn’t know any of this stuff. He served as the Chairman for Ayer’s Annenburg foundation - handpicked by Ayers. He served for 7 years. He and Ayers live in the same neighborhood as Rezko. The Ayers family used to babysit for the Obamas. Ayers and Obama served on the board of the Woods fund together for 2 years. Once Obama got in to the Illinois senate - he funneled millions of dollars to Ayer’s Annenburg foundation, Talbott’s ACORN, Wright’s church, Pleger’s church, and Rezko’s development projects. You can’t tell me he isn’t connected to them. Talbott initiated him in to the community organizer gig - and we all know that ACORN is under investigation in several states for voter fraud. Madeline Talbott was personally responsible for strong-arming the Chicago real estate markets and lenders to push loans to unqualified minorities calling them racists for not giving them loans and effectively boycotted the entire market until they were forced to give those loans.

    Once the rest of America gets the real story behind Obama and his past - those undecided are going to start floating towards McCain. They don’t need a dramatic shift - just a couple percentage point change.

    Mikey - Apparently, you have not seen all the you tube videos of Obama’s live speeches when he didn’t have a teleprompter in front of him. If you noticed, in both debates now - all he has done is regurgitated talking points. He has those down pat. When he is forced to talk outside of the talking points without the teleprompter - he can’t do it. Don’t get me wrong - McCain may not use a teleprompter - but - he repeats himself. He isn’t saying anything different either.

    Blue - I did wake up - and there ain’t no hope with either of these candidates! Just socialism. If Obama gets in - we will become a socialist nation within a few years with a Dem majority in the Senate and House. If McCain gets in - we’ll head towards socialism also - just at a slower pace than Obama.

    Socialism doesn’t work - look at Europe, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. The people become oppressed while the political elite live high on the hog at the people’s expense…and it bankrupts those countries.

    The economic mess we have is due to socialist policies in the mortgage industry forced on a capitalist market by liberal laws first instituted by Carter and then reinforced by Clinton. There was no regulation on the mortgage market because the Dems kept blocking it.

    For instance - look at what Chuck Schumer said just this past week. Bush suggested that from this point forward - all home loans need to be scrutinized and harder to get. There needs to be controls and verifications to make sure those seeking home loans can afford to pay them back. Schumer called that a racist policy! Really? No - even you will admit that is sound business policy. Even now the really left socialist liberal Dems are trying to block regulation of the mortgage market.

    Ummm Europe isn’t a country, it’s a continent with many countries each with their own Government. Even those countries in Europe that are part of the EU maintain their own type of government. At the moment the UK, one of the European countries, is facing a similar crisis to the US and I doubt the existing Labour Government is going to be re-elected because their party’s track record isn’t much better than that belonging to Bush.

    ummm-KatieAnne - I know! Where did I say that it was? I lived in Germany for 8 years and Greece for 4 - I think I would know that. However, the EU as a whole is a socialist organization. I know each country is autonomous - but - each country in the EU while being democratically elected - is a socialist government (by comparison to the U.S. especially).

    3D - just wondering where exactly that article says Petreus supports Obama’s plans. In each mention they use the word “implicit.” Actually, what that article said is the same thing McCain said - the counterinsurgency and surge strategy of Iraq could work in Afghanistan - but would need to be tailored for Afghanistan and to get the people to turn against the insurgents. I still don’t see how Petreus and McKiernan agreeing to what McCain said anyway implicitly endorses Obama.

    Likewise - Obama did indeed - the very first time he said it - said there needs to be open and direct talks with enemy heads of state without precondition. Never in American history has ANY President ever talked directly to enemy heads of state prior to preconditions being set by other envoys of those countries. This is what McCain is stating. Obama wants to be able to jump on a plane himself and fly over and sit at the table with Achmudnutjob without any prior arrangements being set with lower level diplomats.

    What McKiernan and Petreus are saying in this article is the same as what McCain is saying - not what Obama is saying. Generals sitting across the table from enemies to work on deals is not the same as the two heads of states sitting across the table. This is a VERY misleading article. You need to learn to filter and apply your knowledge of the facts before you just buy right in to what the MSM is trying to push on you.

    Go back and read it again yourself and think about what was said in the debates and stump speeches so far. You know as well as I do that Obama said he would meet with enemy nations without precondition. He only changed that position in this very last debate…and…you, just like the MSM are buying in to his lies and his ever-changing positions.

    Pauly, when are you gonna stop wasting your time on McCain?

    Start putting your energy into spreading the 3rd party message and actually make a difference. Spend your time and energy into letting people know there isn’t just 2 choices.

    Is it too late to make a difference in this election? Certainly. But it isn’t too late to make a difference in how they handle their term if we send a strong enough message.

    You are simply feeding the machine my friend. Start showing people how to make an impact on our future instead. You have an audience, show them a better direction then simply more of the same.

    Tracy - by exposing Obama for who he is could actually push people towards a third party if they don’t want to vote for McCain.

    I’m still on the fence regarding McCain. This wasn’t a pro-McCain post - it is an anti-Obama post.

    But, I do most certainly appreciate your input there! Actually, while watching that last debate - I was truly wondering why they were the only ones invited when there are other presidential candidates out there. I thought this was supposed to be democratic process…if so…then ALL of the candidates should be included in ALL presidential debates.
