This is a “Green” Blog!
Oh! You thought I meant “Green” as in eco-friendly! That’s actually pretty funny! No - I meant Green as in - really - look around - my theme color is green! Sorry - I don’t buy in to this global warmongering hoax! I don’t buy in to Al Gorebecile’s unfounded unsupported inconvenient lies. The debate is hardly far from over.
In fact - there are 31,072 American scientists who have signed on debunking this man-made global warming hoax! Of these scientists - approximately 9,000+ have Ph.D.’s in various earth, atmospheric, meteorological, astrological, and physical sciences. They contend the debate is definitely not over!
I proudly drive a Toyota 4Runner SUV! I will drive that puppy from around the corner to the nearest convenience store (conveniently located less than 1 mile from my house) just so that I don’t have to break a sweat! I am unapologetic about it. Sure, gas prices are high right now - but - I’m also a supporter of the Drill Here, Drill Now initiative. (I’ll get that blogroll up over to the right here soon.) I have all the confidence that as we increase supplies and become more energy independent - the prices will fall. I’ll wait it out!
I am not convinced that those hybrids are all the economical. Battery powered cars are just not efficient at this time. Even Dr. MacCready of AeroVironment states “Fuel cells do not deliver enough energy to be really useful for cars” over at GreenCar.com. Not only that, they are still very expensive - “This battery-powered car is a great goal for the future, but is a bit expensive now because of the cost of the batteries.”
Sure, I’m all for using alternative energies such as wind, solar, hydro, and battery fuel cells - once they are efficient and cheap. But - there are other hurdles coming from the most unlikely places! Vulcan’s Hammer has a post up right now that talks about how the environmentalists and some Democrats in Congress are actually blocking efforts to have energy transmission lines built from solar and wind power generators! Some really crazy stuff, isn’t it? Even if the eco-terrorists and Obama get their way and force alternative energy over increasing oil supplies - the REALLY FAR LEFT eco-terrorists are blocking THEIR efforts! They’re working against each other.
At least one thing I can say about those of us on the right on this issue - we’re at least on the same page with drilling for oil! As Kermit would say - It ain’t easy being Green!

Hi Vulcanhammer - just getting things started over here. Thanks for coming on by!
Thought you would appreciate this site http://carbonreset.com . They are releasing CO2 saying that Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. Enlarge your carbon footprint! LOL
Hey Steve - thanks for the link - you’ll note that I have it over on my sidebar now! Most excellent!
I agree with you on the global warming thing. It’s a bunch of crap.
However we do need to start moving to alternatives quickly, because as much as we want to deny it, fossil fuels are a limited resource.
Sounds great to think prices will drop, but long term, that ain’t gonna happen. They’ve already proven we will pay the price so next year it will go up a buck or so more then it did this year, and drop to a level that is still much higher then this year.
We need to get off non renewables for two reasons. One is the health of our people due to pollution (can’t escape the fact we are pumping poison into the air, water and land we need for survival) and the second is our national security. So long as we rely on fossil fuels, we rely to a degree on foreign sources. Drilling here and now is only a short term solution, and not enough to make a real difference.
It will help us bridge the gap to alternatives, but only so long as we aggressively move to make the switch. Unless of course you’d rather let places like China work out the kinks so they can sell us their inferior products when we finally do get on the ball. But then, since we will have failed to build our own infrastructure based on alternative options, we will not have created any jobs so we can afford to buy those products.
Guess I’d better call that 3 reasons to make the move sooner rather then later.
Great Post!
I agree with you Global warming is a scam that Al Gore created to scare us and control us and for money of course.
Drilling now is a temporary solution until we can all afford an alternative energy car which will take decades. I don’t want to pay $40 a gallon while we wait. Vote for McCain who wants to do both solutions!
Bob - I appreciate you coming in and commenting! I do agree with you that we should move towards renewables and alternative sources of energy - especially for our national security. As long as we have a government willing to do the right thing and extract our resources - unfettered - while at the same time aggressively pursuing those alternatives - then we could ultimately ween ourselves entirely off oil, coal, and gas as primary sources. However - these products are also utilized for the production of other consumer goods that are widely used (plastics, steel, etc.) We will never be independent from oil - we just won’t need to use as much!
Allykat - Amen, Sister!!
I have always wondered why the green movement has been against greenhouse gasses. if they are green house gasses, won’t plants grow thereby making the planet greener?
Maybe the reason we don’t have efficient green-technology is that we keep pushing oil over everything else, even though it is non-renewable, and no matter how much we drill here and now, there isn’t an infinite supply. One day it will dry up, then we’ll up the fucking creek without a paddle won’t we? We need to invest green-tech now, so we have the time to perfect it. Even if you don’t believe in global warming, you cannot deny that when we burn fossil fuels, are releasing poisonous gas into the air, which isn’t healthy for anybody. So yes, while I will drive my gas-guzzling Jeep until the day it dies, I hope that by the day it does, we will have discovered an more efficient form of energy by then.
(Also, if people out there are going to comment back, please use rational arguments, other than the usual “tree-hugging liberal jackass” and things of that sort, it gets old real fast, and accomplishes nothing.)
